WHY ????

This is a question which pops up most frequently in our heads.

There are so many things which we want to change in society..
Why are we unable to do so?

Whenever I come home I feel like going back to where I came from!! The roads are perilously potholed and slushy. I walk at the risk of getting hit either by stones from the road, or by the vehicles themselves..
Why don't I have a separate area to walk?
The autos and rickshaws can stand wherever they want.. I think they own the roads. True? So, I definitely have to negotiate them and walk in the middle of the road. Of course, you can't expect buses and autos to maintain traffic rules, can you? ( Gosh! How could you???? They are special people. Not like you and me, are they?? )
WHY ??

Come exam time, and innumerable loudspeakers start blaring around my house.. Politicians can't tone down their voices, can they? They wouldn't reach the masses if they follow noise-level rules, would they?
So,all I have to do is shut the doors and windows AND my ears ( is that possible?? ) and get back to studying.. ( after cursing of course!)
WHY ?? ( I really mean it.. How come rallies get arranged every time you have an exam? )

You may think I atleast get to have a good night's sleep.. Nope..
Mistaken again.. Just when you think you will drop off to sleep, a pack of dogs start growling and barking and fighting down the street.. I can't go down and ask them not to shout can I ??

WHY ?????? ..................................................

  1. the condition of our roads are in a deplorable state..thanks to our Govt and then also the KMC which has tried(everytime in vain)to curb the waterlogging in rainy season and end up digging the roads and only repair them(partly)before pujas and elections...and the auto-bus-taxi unions are powerfully backed by the Govt and also the opposition so better watch out before advising them about traffic regulations..It might be cliche but the main reason why no-one does anything to change all these things is simply because the middle class has been taught to compromise and only when we are ale to break our shackles and hit the roads to usher a change then only things will look up and not before that(no change in the hot seat of power will provide us the change we all desperately crave for)
rallies and street corner meetings are somethings which is a part and parcel of any political party. As because here in India the politicians promise a lot and deliver nothing,we are fed up with their rallies and 'bhasans' but this is a normal ritual of any political party anywhere in this globe..whenever there will be a mass gathering obviously some inconvinieance will arise but we must adjust to it.(i have been part of rallies and it is a true fact that ambulances, school buses are allowed to move with people making way for them).I am ready to sacrifice the rallies and street meetings then someone please suggest me the way to reach out to the masses..If our politicians fulfill their promises(which is a very long shot by the way),then i am sure people will accept their presence..and lastly, dogs protect our locality. So it is good to keep them but i can tell u dogs disturbing sleep is a global problem and no-one wants to resolve it...

  3. I don't know why I've decided to reply to your comments after so many days..
But I really feel necessary to do so..

I know that politicians need to mobilise the masses ( for voting them..) and hence need to get through to them.. and rallies and meetings are probably the only way to do these..
I don't know about rallies, but I know this much that when you hold a meeting, or even when there's a "para pujo" there's a decibel level limit which you have to adhere to.. But most of us are not aware of it..
There are telephone lines where you can complain against the errant.. But sadly people do not know the telephone numbers!!
If there are people who are genuinely interested in your meeting, they will take the trouble to attend it.. won't sit at home.. so why bother upping the volume and disturb everyone?? Do you really think we are able to hear clearly whatever the guy says on the mic sitting at home ?? (except for the "mic testing" part and the "Zindabad" part, which comes at the end !!) Atleast I don't..

And as for dogs, stray dogs are taken care of in every society except ours.. where they are just stoned.. stray dogs are supposed to be reported to the blue cross, so that they can inspect these dogs, give them the required vaccines.. and then take care of them.. Sadly..hardly any of us is aware of this too.. Do we have the numbers of the blue cross readily?? 99% of us don't have the patience to look it up in the net....

And, I don't think you've made any mistake in your comments.... :)

  4. Well, I would say there are many unrequited questions that will never be answered. This will consistently cause turmoil in your head... it's natural. I have a question too... CAN YOU CRY UNDER WATER??

  5. Why don't you make your blog look good? It looks not good. I would never write on such platform which has dull presentation and less tweaking. Don't mind as I said so.. Just think what I said... have a great time..

  6. Anand you take a different note altogether..I don't think of questions which are natural, like can we cry under water or.. how many dimensions there exist in this world.. My questions are totally different..these things can be rectified..
I do not talk of beauty or other things which appeal to people in general..I talk of things which AFFECT people..
I should have written this a lot earlier..just didn't find the time..
O and I like my blog this way.. :)
